Today was a great first day of interviewing and filming! We
had so much fun, and felt so good when we walked away. We started off the day
working on our footage that we took yesterday. We downloaded a software to
convert the video from the camera to our computer. At first we thought we had
lost all of our footage, but really it was just saved as a file that we had
never experience before. Then we wrote a script for the interview that would
take place at Ann’s Snack Bar. Shortly after we drove down to south Atlanta to
take some footage of the environment around Ann’s Snack Bar. Did some footage
of the introduction to Ann’s and met with the manager. We got to witness a real
Ann’s Snack Bar experience, the famous “first 8”, because there are 8 stools in
Ann’s, so the first 8 people that show up get to be the first ones to order. We
then met with the manager, did our interview, and ordered the famous “ghetto burger”.
The interview was quite interesting. There is a lot of history behind Ann’s,
and the manager is actually Ann’s brother who isn’t a permanent employee. He is
only filling in for her while she is sadly sick right now. But he has been
there since the beginning, and experienced the transformations of Ann’s. We
then did our tasting segment of the ghetto burger, and filmed the preparation
of the burger. To finish the day, we did our exit of Ann’s Snack Bar, where we
took footage of Murphy giving the three part review, taste, service, and
location. We gave Ann’s a 5 on taste, 5 on service, and 3 on location. Murphy
says it was the best burger he has ever had. Along with some of the nicest
people that we have ever met, they were so welcoming and were thrilled for us
to be there. All in all today was such a fun day, filled with some great
footage and great people.
